Biscuit Power in NYC

NYC experienced a "rebirth of hardcore pride" as the allmighty Gorilla Biscuits made their "official," triumphant return to the motherland. Walter and the boys brought all-out, finger-pointing mayhem (as expected) to the barricade/bouncer-free B.B. King venue.

GB played almost every song they have, plus a a few covers from CIV, (is that really a cover?), Warzone and Project X. As expected, there was an array of NYC hardcore legends in the house, including Lou and Pete Koller (Sick of it All), Hoya (Madball), John Joseph (Cro Mags), Toby Morse (H20) and a dude in a banana costume.
Civ (the guy, not the band) made some jokes about the aging crowd making the trip out to the show after having their wives apply Ben Gay, which is probably true. He also said "seperate we are junk, together we are mighty." I am not sure if that goes for our man Walter, uh, Quicksand?
The bottom line is that the show was as amazing, if not better than we anticipated. Not to mention that Murphy's Law and Leeway also played.

I need a photo of the dude in the banana costume. I've got a little thing going on over at my blog that he'd be perfect for...

I wish I had one, I was at the show and saw that fool.

I felt like a little kid at that show. The G.B. were amazing. They played every song they wrote with the exception of "Distance" plus a few covers. I haven't felt so excited before a HXC show in almost a decade. It was worth the wait. It was kinda strange hearing those songs due to soooo many hxc bands covering the G.B. throughout the years and this time we got the original lineup.
It was awsome to see Murphy's Law and Leeway as well. I saw those bands about a dozen times each since 1991. And as always, they wailed. Murphy's Law just a Great time as usual. And LEEWAY with their original lineup never sounded so tight.
Another thing that was great (and probabally most important) was that there were no barricades and bouncers dividing the band and crowd. Just total freedom and chaos and everyone having a great time.

A BIG SHOUT OUT to Brooklyn JOE at the G.B. show selling the merch.
for the bands. Another thing that was great about the show was the
fair prices of t-shirts and sweaters ranging from $10-$30.
considering BB KING is a major venue in times square.

Ernie from Token Entry/BTJ/Grey Area/Arsons was there too..... he was on the floor.

Damn, if I knew Leeway was playing I might have opted for this show instead of CB's. But then again there was no HR at BB Kings.
