Soulwax, Moby, John Digweed at Ultra NY

I went up to Central Park last night for Ultra Fest, NYC. The vibe was rave-ish, as to be expected at any big electronic event, complete with glow sticks and stilts. I dig Soulwax's production work and DJ alter-ego (2ManyDJs), but as many of you know, DJ and studio skills are usually a disappointment when primarily electronic artists try to make it happen live on stage. I was prepared for them to suck in a big way, but I couldn't tell you how wrong I was. They killed it, with a truly live feeling, including live drummer, vocals (some sampled), bassist, synth and samplers.

More on Ultra Fest and photos after the jump. Now that Moby has gone "internet celibate," maybe he is just going back in time all together. I don't think he played a record that was made after 1997. But I will say he rocked it in a retro-techno way. When was the last time he DJed anyway?
