Spinner Picks for CMJ

It's that time of year again -- CMJ week in New York City. The CMJ Music Marathon event list can be daunting, so here's the list of shows that we think are worth your time. (Click on the artist's name for show details and set time.)
Girl Talk - Mash-up mayhem on a laptop. It's the ultimate nerd dance party.
Hot Chip - The disco-punk heroes haven't failed us yet.
The Watson Twins - Jenny Lewis' highly underrated backup singers make some of the most beautiful country gospel since the Carter Family.
Annuals - They are the mini-Arcade Fire.
The Slip - The perfect blend of Margot and the Nuclear So and So's and the New Radicals.
Heavens - Anyone that spells out "G.O.D." in a song is alright by us.
Kevin Devine - Just in case you haven't been paying attention, our man has it going on.
Mew - They are our favorite Danes, duh.
CSS - They are from Brazil and they make us dance.
Miss Tk and the Revenge - The modern-day answer to the Waitresses with members of Zero Zero and Lifetime.
The Big Sleep - Because we liked them before you.
The Format - Circus-infleunced indie rock that we are down with for some reason.
Kid Koala / John Medeski - A dope turntablist and a jazz-obsessed hippie unite, that's gotta be good.
The Knife - We want to get to the bottom of those silly masks.
MSTRKRFT - Hipster-electro done right.
Mobius Band - Their song was in a New Balance commercial. They have to be good live.
Snowden - They put Jade Tree back on the hipster map. Recognize!
