there's something really amazing about this party at cinespace on tuesdays that we've been doing for the last almost 3 years that defies every lame thing that exists in LA. Hollywood is a very weird place... and can change people faster than most cities, at least from my knowledge, and not in the best ways either. dont get me wrong i love living here. i work here, in the day, at night, i live in the center of it and i love it. and honestly its because of this party that we throw on tuesdays and this new party that cobrasnake, dj am and i created for another "no bottle service" "no cologneheads" party that tries to bring back some SOUL into why we are doing the things we are doing, playing out the songs we are playing, and ultimately creating a world we want to be part of and make fucking awesome. i hate hearing other people give pep talks like this but i just want to give back to all the rad people that come to tuesdays and now sundays and are down to hear new music and new bands and make this thing we have really special. thank you.

starting it all off at our the dim mak cinespace tuesdays party and this one was super duper special for us because our newest signees Whitey performed their live show which was absolutely fucking stunning! Incredible! I adore this artist and have been a major fan of Whitey for a long time coming and now they came, all over everyone..

lets start it out with sexy time dora who is our supermodel postergirl of dim mak collection.

this is one section of the dim mak/cobrasnake compound where the whitey guys slept and cuddled on top of each other for their la stay.

club cory and maggy came by earlier to sparks it up... i havent had that drink since ol' addVice Nyc Parties days.. elhaaaaammmiiee..

my yamika from kirk sommer's wedding and my bright green gangster desk.

i went on earlier than usual so i can catch all of whitey.

i love me some willlowzzzz... wait til their new album drops on dim mak early next year!!

thats called the vancouver wrangler face by none other than Dustin from Hot Hot Heat after he played "Slow Hands" by Interpol

even Lindsay Lohan and club Cory loves some of Britain's finest.

    Whitey in Action....

thank you buddy Danny Masterson and Bijou Phillips for hosting them on the best show on Indie 103.1 "Feel My Heat" mondays from 9-11pm.

    Aviron the Cobrasnake and Lindsay

Coolio dropped by... last time he came through he did some freestyle. Duuude what happened to "gangster's paradise"

Pase Rock from Spankrock killed his set like always... and the rest of the crew including Laurel Stearns buddy came through.. Naeeem yeahhhh...

Love me some fucking Sean Na Na.. can not WAIT for that album to drop in 07...

It was packed, super fun - Dustin from Hot Hot Heat, Pase Rock Them Jeans, Whitey LIVE, all rubbed their shit out all night, including myself. THen we headed back to the Dim Mak compound for a night cap. THe next night Whitey played a packed out show with Peaches at Avalon.. We chilled til the break o' dawn literally and i sadly flew out to TORONTO to dj a A.D/D party at the Social which became one, if not, the BEST PARTY that i djed all YEAR LONG. thank you TORONTO. YOU GUYS ARE SO FUCKING AMAZING. met up with Jesse and Al-P chopped shop and did keg stands, and cant forget the ten person tackle on Keeler when I dropped "Romantic Rights"... if i could have stage dove on his ass i would have but the booth was too complicated. Mario and Evie i love you guys. MSTRKRFT i dj too many of your songs out it's prolly annoying people. No photos cuz i didnt take any. I was in and out and went straight to the airport to fly to my second home NYC to dj at Stereo. I got in early enough to meet up with Mike Spinella and do an interview for Spinner.com's DL show. Check out spinner.com for more details. Met up with A Trak and got some grub and headed over to Stereo. I play a packed out friday party every other friday there and they got a bunch of great guests that come through as well Jus Ske, Mark Ronson, Sizzahands, DJ AM, Q Tip, Samantha Ronson, and more... It's a fun hip hop partaaay.

Saturday i flew home to LA to, this time DVDJ with my homeboy Danny Masterson aka Momjeans at the HENRY FONDA THEATRE for a private XMAS party. We manned the stage - Danny djed the whole time while i cut it up on the dvds. with some help from Dave from Cinespace and Bijou. THanks Dave for the Dvdjs and the mixer buddyyy. Like the night before I headed straight for the airport to fly right back out to the east coast but down to Miami for a show with The Bravery at Pawn Shop. Finally get to Miami on sunday, and it got packed really quick.

The Bravery was actually kinda alright. I'm not blown away but they rocked the crowd. I played my shit out and then headed back to my hotel to watch Saw 3 and order room service at 6 am. At this point i've had about 4 hours of non airplane sleep in the last 72 and i could not wait to get on another plane! They are just unbelievably fun, y'know sitting up straight trying to sleep for 5 hours. just what i needed. so now im home and i stayed up to finish this incredibly long blog since i got no photos of my last travels.

    Until next time,
    Xo Steve Aoki

dude, shut up. seriously. no one wants to hear a restaraunt heir complain about how shitty l.a. is and how you're putting soul back into it. if there was soul in it it wouldn't be l.a.

please just shut up and release records.
