Righteous babe Ani DiFranco gave birth to a 7 pound, 8 oz. girl, Petah Lucia, at her Buffalo home last Saturday. This is the first child for the prolific rocker with engineer Mike Napolitano, a man whom she credits in part to her newfound happiness.

"This is a whole new kind of relationship for me," DiFranco says. "I mean, on the surface it seems a lot like old relationships, like, 'Oh, Ani and her sound guy' [laughs]. But I find this relationship to be really nutritious. All the time that we spend together is good."

DiFranco released her latest album, 'Reprieve,' last summer.
