Hanging out at a Silver Lake, Calif. cafe, Silversun Pickups frontman Brian Aubert is enjoying what he says is a very rare day off. "We've been so busy our heads have been in the sand," he tells Spinner. "We've been working so hard touring, we can see the shows have gotten bigger and we've gotten busier, which is what we like, but haven't really noticed it."
Aubert says it was a similar experience when the quartet appeared on the 'Late Show With David Letterman.' "[It] is just something we went and did and thought, 'Wow, how'd that happen? Whatever,'" he says. "We didn't feel it."
But friends of the band did and now that the quartet has been hanging at home before hitting the road with Snow Patrol and OK Go, Aubert has been feeling it too. "If you have friends at all, they let you know, like, 'What the f**k is happening, man?' I'm like, 'What are you talking about?'" They're like, 'Dude, what's going on? I see you on my TV,'" he says. "I never watch TV or listen to the radio, but I realize a lot of people do."
