'She Doesn't Get It,' The Format
From 2006's 'Dog Problems'
Some of the Format's songs veer a little close to circus music for my tastes. This one though -- it kills. It's extra catchy and the lyrics manage to be funny and smart at the same time, while the intro is reminiscent of a late '80s/early '90s song that I can't quite place, but takes me back to my formative years on the runways of high fashion.
Nate Reuss starts out somewhat manly by singing about girls posting like pictures and boys having girly haircuts on what I assume is MySpace. But as the song continues -- by stating, in so many words, that he hasn't the stomach for one-night stands -- he reveals that he's kind of a chick. He sings about how he "fall[s] in love far too quickly" and he ends up being "the only one that [gets] hurt." As a former male model that has bedded literally tens of thousands of women, I know that feelings are for female baby-children. I kid, I kid. Still, the song is a keeper.
Hear the song after the jump.
