Bjork Ends Album Speculation

Bjork has always been good for a raised eyebrow or two. Her new album, 'Volta,' due May 8, will be no exception.
For the follow-up to 2004's all-vocal effort, 'Medulla,' the Icelandic pixie teamed with hip-hop super producer Timbaland on three of the album's ten tunes, as well as androgynous rocker Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons, experimental African troupe Konono No. 1 and Lightning Bolt's Brian Chippendale, among others. 'Volta' also finds the eclectic songstress handling all writing and production duties.
Bjork will debut the new material with a handful of festival appearances this spring and summer, including a headlining slot at Coachella on April 27 at Indio, California's Empire Polo Field.

There is no one, nor will there ever be anyone like Bjork. Like most great artists she is ahead of her time and ahead of the curve.
Much like Velvet Underground she may not sell massive amounts of music. But future generations of musicians will be citing her as an important influence in their musical development.
