Roger Waters, longtime Pink Floyd bassist and principal songwriter, has teamed up with Academy Award-winning composer Howard Shore to devise a theme song for the upcoming science-fiction film 'The Last Mimzy.' The track, titled 'Hello (I Love You),' only the second song Waters has written specifically for the screen, is scheduled to be released on the movie's soundtrack album this month.
"It has been great collaborating with [director] Bob Shaye and Howard Shore on 'The Last Mimzy,'" says Waters. "I think together we've come up with a song that captures the themes of the movie, the clash between humanity's best and worst instincts, and how a child's innocence can win the day."
Waters has sustained a wide-ranging solo career since dissolving Pink Floyd in 1985, composing several critically lauded conceptual rock albums and even an opera, and most notably reunited with his former Floyd mates for a Live 8 live performance in 2004.
