They Will Rock You: Antibalas (No. 5)
The Deal: Take two parts African funk, add a dollop of jazz and Latin boogaloo, steep it in political and social concerns, and you'll get Antibalas. The 13-piece Brooklyn collective offer up their update on booty-shakin' '70s world-beat, which is precisely calculated to stimulate both the brain and the pelvis. Their cultural mishmosh furthers the case that politics goes down well over danceable rhythms.
Fun Fact: The group once performed a concert for prisoners incarcerated at New York City's Rikers Island jail.
Sounds Like: Fela Kuti, if the Afrobeat pioneer was from New York instead of Nigeria

Fela definitely comes to mind, but I hear more eclectic sounds here. More jazz, strong Caribbean presence, also RnB, and even classical.
Great composition.

This music SUCKS!! I'm so sick of hearing jungle music when I'm trying to find decent Rock or Pop music.

Not rock rock is Stonehigh. This is the problem with record companies today. They will take any kind of crap and ram it down our throats. no thanks.

Very soothing to listen and it is great to hear a piece that is instrumental rich. I just loved it!

Very plain and redundant. Ther is no "hook" or syntax to the song. Sorry...I love all genres of music, but this one doesn't do it for me.

I didn't make it past the first 11 seconds...literally. Sounds like a kid practicing trumpet...horrendously. Even hit a clinker on the 3rd or 4th note.
