The Deal: This indie quartet from the Scottish Highlands make a beautiful racket, and they're not afraid to wear their '80s influences on their sleeves. Oft-compared to fellow Scots Franz Ferdinand for their ability to make rock suited to the dance floor, the Cinematics lean heavier on the melody than most of their New Wave-throwback peers

Fun Fact: Their just-released debut album was produced by Stephen Hague, who produced classic '80s albums by New Order and Pet Shop Boys.

Please go and see The Cinematics LIVE - and then make your comments. I promise you you will have a great time. I get so tired of the no talent comparison critics who seem to be completely focused on discovering the next new thing. There is nothing there because its all been done before in some form or other.

This one doesn't do much for me. Not very original at all, I'm afraid. No, I seem to require a little more soul in my music. Really, the songwriting here just isn't that great.

You might want to listen to more than one track...or for longer than 11 seconds on each of them...before you think you have a clue. This band has had a number #1 on that site for three months...and it is the largest Indie Artist music site in the world...

formulatic boring vocals not the worst I 've heard but far from the best, skip these lame band recommendations from SPINNER go to myspace and explore ther is a lot of music there that the American public will hear on the radio and thats just for starters
