Listen dear, typing is a rather important skill and so is being legible.
As for the other comments about not listening to her... How can people avoid her if she's on so many radio stations and playing in so many stores? It's mind-boggling how she became so popular. She writes (or rather, co-writes) some of the most superficial lyrics ever. Can she please just choke herself with her jelly bracelets, ties or whatever the hell she's wearing nowadays? Music wants its integrity back, thx.

all of you haters are so rude. at least she actually WROTE most of the song! if you haters had to make an album of 13 songs, you would think up something even worse( not that this song is bad, its awesome). besides, plenty of other singers have others write the songs for them. be grateful that she can think and not just sing.

She's not saying that it was obvious what gender they were, she's saying that by STATING that one was a boy, and the other was a girl, you should be able to infer that there was some kind of romance there.
Taken out of context, though, they are pretty ridiculous lyrics.

Um...Excuse me, but I don't think anyone actually got that this opening line makes plenty of sense. It's telling you that there's a boy, and there's a girl. In essence, a love story. She's actually quite clever in her use of hidden metaphors and the like in most songs. Plus, she's smokin' hot:)

Whoever said stop hating, oh well, because I won't. Avril Lavigne has the WORST songs in history. Girlfriend just may be her worst. Her voice grates on my eardrums, for lack of a more commonly used term. But you can like her if you wan't. I don't really care.
