Are you people ever satisfied? if she didn't say, "can i make it any more obvious," She would be on here because it was obvious. that's the whole point in the song. it starts out being a traditional love story, and then she twists it. i can understand how the song sounds kinda dumb now, but when it first came out, everybody loved it. Avril Lavigne is amazing.

Oh, and yes, "girlfriend" is a little annoying, but it's all about the energy. Tell me that song doesn't make you happy.

This lyric is almost as stupid as the whole song "Girlfriend".
Avril Lavigne writes the worst "tweenage" girl songs ever.
Seriously, her only fans are 8-13 year old fantards.

Whoever said stop hating, oh well, because I won't. Avril Lavigne has the WORST songs in history. Girlfriend just may be her worst. Her voice grates on my eardrums, for lack of a more commonly used term. But you can like her if you wan't. I don't really care.

Um...Excuse me, but I don't think anyone actually got that this opening line makes plenty of sense. It's telling you that there's a boy, and there's a girl. In essence, a love story. She's actually quite clever in her use of hidden metaphors and the like in most songs. Plus, she's smokin' hot:)
