The Interface's Most Outlandish Moments

Hopefully, you've been keeping up with the exploits, musical and otherwise, of our guests -- if not, we'll get you up to speed with a full archive of each and every Interface.
Keep reading for more of our favorite moments.
Along the way, some unusual things -- some might even call them bizarre -- have happened. For example, recently Ted Leo wrote us a prescription for good musical health, then he rocked the studio with some politically charged tunes and even covered the Impressions' Keep On Pushing.'

We've seen other side of artists like the Raconteurs. When the band made their U.S. debut in our studio, Brendan Benson sketched a portrait of Jack White on our whiteboard. The whiteboard remains untouched to this day.

The Sleepy Jackson wrote a song for Gwen Stefani on the spot.

Matt Costa slept on our conference room floor after a long night with his pals Jack D., Jim B. and Stella A.

The Slip dressed up in silly animal costumes and played a few tracks off 'Eisenhower,' which might be my favorite album of 2006.

The Hold Steady drank some Jagermeister and told us what a drink named after them would consist of.

Jamie Lidell accused James Blunt of stealing his album art. He asked Spinner, "Do you think that James Blunt is copying me?" He went on to thank James for helping him out with accidental album sales.

Amy Winehouse dissed Bono, saying to Spinner that she told the rocker to "shut up" throughout his acceptance speech at an award ceremony. When he later introduced himself, saying it was "lovely to meet you," all Winehouse could muster was a cool kiss-off, "Thank you for funding my albums. Bye."

When hipster art rockers Grizzly Bear came in, they showed local pride, throwing back a few Brooklyn Lagers. Singer Ed Droste spoke about the gentrification of Williamsburgh and admitted, "I am part of the problem, I like nice restaurants."

Karen O. and the rest of Yeah Yeah Yeahs took on the Rentals' 'The Love I'm Searching For,' but mistakenly introed the song as 'You Should Be With Me.' Nonetheless it was probably the best cover song in Interface history.

We hope that you've enjoyed the first year of the Interface half as much as we've enjoyed making it. As we head into Year 2, the Interface will be available as a video podcast. Those of you who prefer audio will still be able to grab it in MP3 format.
We kick things off with manic medic-rockers Clinic. Subscribe to our feed to be sure not to miss it.

Happy 1st Birthday! Keep up the good work, the list of bands was quite nice. How about some New Pornographers, The National or Maximo Park? All those have or will have new albums coming out soon.
