New York indie-rock innovators Blonde Redhead unveil the Melodie McDaniel-directed video for the title track to their forthcoming album '23.' Singer Kazu Makino told Spinner, "23 is sort of my magic number." Does the video deliver the magic?

My, my this song kicks total butt. I really am keen on it, I love her voice, and the lighting of the video. Although I wouldn’t want to listen to it repetitively, it would be too easy to get sick of, as it’s repetitive.

i'd guess that '23' is a boards of canada inspiration (aquarius). the video and music is directly inspired by my bloody valentine. like the way the guy strums the jaguar.

I haven't listened to the record yet, but this song seems to be missing the complexity and texture of past Blonde Redhead releases. The melody is so straightforward and repetitive and failed to evoke an emotional response in me...
Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about their first album in 3 years, but this song didn't overly impress me.
