Sheryl Crow Pisses Off One of God's People

It sucks to be Sheryl Crow right now. As if Karl Rove isn't tossing enough hate her way, God decided to throw a little of his own. OK, well, not God per se, but the Roman Catholic archbishop of St. Louis, Raymond Burke, who resigned his position as head of the Cardinal Glennon Children's Foundation after the charity's board of governors allowed Crow to be the featured performer for a benefit concert.

Burke called the singer "a high profile proponent of the destruction of innocent lives" and considers her appearance "an affront to the identity and mission of the medical center, dedicated as it is to the service of life and Christ's healing mission." Because, you know, you can't be Pro-God and Pro-Choice. Read the full story.

I believe that Ms. Crow is misguided and misinformed on the matters Archbishop Burke speaks of. I think that Sheryl is good person at heart and is someone generous and concerned; but on the matters of morale leadership I will side with Archbishop Burke instead of a Rock Star. I believe Archbishop Burke has the correct view on the protection of life, more so than Sheryl. Historically whenever any society starts to sacrifice their offspring in sake of their own future, that society declines in status and usually ceases to exist. For example please see Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire.

The so-called man of God Raymon Burke is a mentally sick person... who as many priets and preachers are full of hate and negativism in the name of God, they abuse their churches as this super extremely dirty and war criminal administration is, the worst ever in the history of the USA. The only I just don't understand is why God does not punish them.

"Burke called the singer "a high profile proponent of the destruction of innocent lives" and considers her appearance "an affront to the identity and mission of the medical center, dedicated as it is to the service of life and Christ's healing mission.""

What is Burke's position on the continuing conspiracy that the Roman Catholic Church has perpetuated so effectively, lo, these last 40-50 years (on record)concerning Pedohile Priests in the midst of their such well-intentiond ideals concerning children?

Does he Boycott the Pope? "Ratzinger/Pope/Abuse"-do a search on him and see how instrumental he was in hiding and denying for our previous Pope and as Pope himself after that the hellish nightmare that the Catholic Church has allowed and even enabled to children that in "their care" have suffered. NOW HE'S THE POPE AND HAS HOW MANY LIVING, BREATHING CHILDREN IN HIS CARE?!

    Here's just one:
    http://observer.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,6903,1469055,00.html

Sheryl is a strong woman who stands up for what she believes-as we all should- and the Church and it's Denizens should start by cleaning house of their own filthy past, present and future before showboating and throwing a Hissy Fit over the performance of someone who he doesn't and they don't agree with on moral issues.

    Is this not America?

If it still is, what Sheryl does and says is not only legal, but the very essence of what we are all about. The Church, on the other hand is spending MILLIONS every year to Lobby the Politicians they have in their pocket on "The Hill" to save them from the most damaging series of State and Federal Class Action Lawsuits that our Legal System has seen-maybe ever-with the same Entity as a Defendant.

He's stepping down for the wrong reason, but hey, it's still one less Hypocrite caring for our Children.

Do a search on Ratzinger and his concealment of Pedophile Priests. Don't take my word for it.

    What a joke...

MAY GOD AND CHRIST HELP US ALL.

I gotta go with the Archbishop.I am not catholic but if I were I would only want someone with the same core beliefs at an event like that. It's kinda weird like having Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton at an KKK meeting, or Courtney Love performing on the Jerry Falwell show.Or better yet look up Ronald Reagan and some of his saying's on abortion and now his wife is all for stem cell research with embryo's which would be all right except for the fact she's using his name and from what I have read him say she's kinda stomping on his grave.

I take more issue with what the writer said, when he added, " Because, you know, you can't be Pro-God and Pro-Choice." You cannot serve God, Jesus Christ, and support any form of abortion without being convicted in your soul.

a life is a beautiful thing to waste. In the
Catholic church we are taught basic rules of decency..such as do unto others..we as parents have the responsibility to teach right from wrong in keeping the 10 commandments and avoiding avarice, greed and excessive indulgence. With all of this taught we go forth the rest of out lives with conscience as our guide..when u do wrong and Know better then u r sinning. If these pedophile Priests and woman who use abortion as birth control..feel they are wrong in thier acts then they will burn in hell or at the least have to do years of penence. If the Archbishop has strong conviction about this then he was bound by his conscience to do what he did. Just so u know those involved in cover ups of these pedophiliacs are just as bad and will pay with thier souls. If they don't then the whole God thing is a farce. Not necessarily a bad one..without christiannity and organized religion we would all be living in chaos.

We gotta go with Sheryl on this one. What did she say she was pro-choice?? What's wrong with that? If she's gonna play somewhere and they ask her something, if she says what she believes, don't get pissed off about it.

How in the HELL can you compare a Pedophile Priest to a Woman who is exercising her Right of Choice?

    Are you all IDIOTS?

OK, so a Pedophile Priest rapes a young girl and impregnates her. She gets an abortion rather than give birth to the Devil's Spawn.

She goes to the same place in Hell as the Pedophile?

These are supposed to be "Men of God!"

"Shut Up and Sing". Original. That's good, but don't listen to the words you mono-syllabic MORONS. The message is still there.

You think you have a lock on God, Christ, Heaven and Hell, don't you?

Grow Up. Shut Up. I'd rather hear someone who has brains and talent EXPRESS their views and opinions than you misinformed, misguided FOOLS.

Through the ages it has been the Poets and Musicians, (Writers all) who have been the voice of our age.

    Better them than you Idiots.

Oh, and an un-famous moron is STILL a MORON. Just one that's not famous.

They taught monkeys to type, too. Apparently, a few got looose...

Let me guess, there were no Dinasours, either, right?

You people are as scary as Hitler or Bin Laden.

RELIGIOUS FREAKS HIDING BEHIND THE NAME OF GOD TO SPEW YOUR POISON.

Christ will weed you all out, especially you FREAK EXTREMISTS twisting his name and words all these years.

You'll BURN in HELL with Ratzinger and his Pedophile Buddies.

I hope they turn up the heat...

Just to comment on SVZ,s Points.. Some of them anyway. In a crude way you are right. In most of what you say. There is so much that we don't Know. Much of what we do know has been shaped like you said by Poets and artists through the ages. Hell for instance the way most of mankind thinks of it is Dante's depiction..demons and a pitchfork weilding devil with horns on his head darting through flames that go deeper and deeper into the bowels of hell. Depending how severe the sinner the flames grow more intense. Biblically Lucifer was the most beautiful of Gods angels.. strange but very true we don't know a lot..We know there were dinosaurs and life before Christianity. It is sad that people allow singers and writers of fiction to shape our thoughts...but that is what has been going on forever. I don't think they are morons but weak. Someone once said the more knowledge we gain the less likely we are to believe in religion. I lean towards Hope myself. I hope that there is more. The Arch Bishop is an old timer set in his ways taking a stubborn stand..

Sheryl crow is an extreme liberal that should stop whining about global warming when she uses 3 huge buses to haul just her equipment and crew. she must have her own suite and flys from show to show in a jet using more fuel than nascar does in a month of sundays. She is an idiot and an evil person, as are all people who believe in abortion.just another hollywood nut and liberal activist. she should be banned from performing anywhere...she has no talent and like most liberals she has no brains

What does God have to do with abortion. You are all full of shit. You are the same people who tell poor people to have kids they can not afford, but refuse to help feed and clothe the children. It seems to me, the only people who who are anti abortion, are the same people who want guns, war and a whole lot of other social measures that end in a lot of death. Why don't you all put things in perspective. If you are against abortion, you should be for gun control, against war, especially war for lies, profiteering from oil or energy. it seems that all of your arguments are for the sake of convenience. 25,000 deaths by handgun a year. Over 1/2 million Iraqi's dead for a war with no end. Where are all of you people who are so high and mighty. Probably supporting a priest at a pedofile convention!!!

Thank God Sheryl Crow stands behind her beliefs. I appreciate her boldness in representing them because sometimes all we have is our voice and even if all it does is spark a debate it at least keeps the conversation alive. The Archbishop seems rather dark and judgemental for a religious figure. Publicly condemning Sheryl Crow for her choices and in return asking for publicity is only spreading negativity and I don't see much difference between his commentary on her than Perez Hilton insulting celebrities appearances.

By the way Global Warming affects us all, so let's talk about that.

The first thing I found troubling was the headline,"Sheryl pisses off "one of God's people"
Why is Sheryl Crow so wrong for wanting to clean up the Earth,The Earth, the mother of us all. Or being pro-choice would you want to bear the child of a pedophilliac priest or uncle Chester?I can't imagine anyone using abortion simply as a form of birth control. From what I understand having an abortion is an extremely unpleasant experience that noone would choose to relieve as strictly a matter of convenience.Besides we have birth control pills, condoms etc.Oh, that's right, you want to get rid of that too.The Catholic church has been robbing, molesting, raping, murdering your ancestors and mine for centuries now.And all in the name of God and the church.Anyone ever watch a mafia movie before? An Arch-bishop Is really just a captain in a crime family"Paulie".It boils down to if they like Ms. Crow and her beliefs more than the R.C.C. that means that less people will show up to church to give their 10% to "Paulie" I mean the church. Also to keep the lawmakers from prosecuting those in the church responsible for the molesting of the children the church has to distance itself from any liberal thinkers and stay aligned with the "BUSHIES". You "hopelessly faithful" people or "haplessly faithful" as i choose to call you, should read a world history book once and not the propagandist crap they shoveled down our throats in school
Freedom of religion as long as it's Christian?Freedom of Speech as long as your thoughts are aligned with the church? Anyone who Believes in a book of parables poems, and fictional stories as the truth or gospel of/from GOD and can make a literal translation of the passages, especially when it came from the roman catholic church is not doing their homework!! and even more-so when you religous extremists climb up your crosses and try to force your archaic beliefs on others in the form of laws, you are a facist. Any form of "ism"is wrong.(EXTREMISM,FASCISM,NAZISM,COMMUNISM,BUSHISM)Your archaich beliefs maybe right for you but that doesn't make them Ms. Crows, mine, or anyone else's.Freedom of choice means having the right to choose for yourself not everyone else.Think about this, the F.B.I. said that there was never any evidence found related to satanist or black arts occults, however, there has been a few christian based occults, for starters,Jim Jones-Guyana tragedy,David Koresh(spelling?)dude in Texas what's up with that? The point is,learn for yourself what's right for you don't follow blindly, read between the headlines, and don't believe what others tell you. Find out what's right for you and implement it into your life don't force it on others. But realize that's where it ends with you.Acceptance goes hand in hand with Freedom. NO RELIGION IN POLITICS PEACE
