Only David Bowie could sing a science fiction song in glam rock gear, and make us weep.
    BRAVO!

Check out Peter Schilling's 1983 hit "Major Tom (Coming Home)". Major Tom survives.

This song itself is in every americans personal capsule. Children from the 60's and early 70's knows what it meant to have someone to go to the moon. And it was such a mystical thought. He just honored our astronauts I feel.

I sang lead in a 60 - 70's rock band and did songs of this era and type. We never considered this one because of the concert strings needed, and we only did what we could do well. I never listened to it the way I did today in the full wandering stereo. It is more music and production than I ever knew before this date.

Ground-Control to Major overated freak! Nice song, though. But the thing with Mick don't fly with me... but then I've been without a lady too long, and I guess I shouldn't be judgemental.
