'Closer at Hand,' Field Music
From 2007's 'Tones of Town'
'Closer at Hand,' off Field Music's latest album, 'Tones of Town,' draws upon the best elements of Yes and Fleetwood Mac, with the honest production values of Midlake. If it's all about the hook, this track certainly has it covered. But that's not all the U.K. trio has to offer in this gem two-and-a-half minute gem of a tune. The layered piano and violin, the not-so-overdone vocals and the bouncey, retro-flavored melody make me freakin' love this song.
