I think Martina McBride is one of the best singers, but I remember hearing this song for the first time driving to work and knew immediately what it was about. I cried the entire 30 minute commute. Just to think about child abuse makes me so upset, and it happenes every hour of every day (probably even more often). It makes me want to just hug every child I see just in case...

I LOVE Martina Mc Bride. I've been a fan my whole life because she's always been a family favorite. She is so humble but has a great talent. Her music and voice are so pure and her songs are always very heartfelt.

I watched the video to this song when it first came out and couldnt stop crying... Just watched it again n was even more emotional knowing what I know as an adult about child abuse... there are people out there like the teacher in that music video that see things and ignore them... could save a life to simply speak up!

Much sadder than the Ben Folds abortion song. That should tell you pro-life folks something.

As a victim of child abuse for 13 years this song really gets to me.. Its so beautiful but still strikes a cord in me :/ Even when the pain is gone the mental effects of abusive are with you for life... I know they have remained with me.

This is one of THE most depressing songs known to man. WHY hasn't the child abused stopped yet? Why beat a child to begin with?

When this came out I was about 6 and these things were happening to me, I cried when it came on the radio in class, my teacher asked what was wrong and she got me out of there to foster care for a while, it's better now, somewhat, but it still makes me cry...

How or why someone could hurt a child is beyond me. Children are helpless, they need to be taken care of and loved, not beaten and abused! People who abuse children should, in my book suffer the same punishment as rapist and murderers. They did not ask to be born, it is not their fault that "Mom" is having a hard time or "Dad can't deal with the crying. A VERY sad song!

this song made me cry so much. the lyrics are so true, people always look at the kid with the clothes torn and bruises on their faces as though they are a horrible creature, not stopping to think they are abused. Its so sad, people need to end the abuse and know that it DOES actually exist.

Not one victim of child abuse...all of them. Working with children I see it every day. This is one of mine (and my seven year old daughters) favorite songs. Its so sad but makes you stop and think and touches your heart. The kind of song you cry to just thinking about it.
