'Alyssa Lies'
Jason Michael Carroll (2007)
"Alyssa lies to the classroom/Alyssa lies every day at school/Alyssa lies to the teachers/As she tries to cover every bruise." But now she doesn't lie in the classroom anymore: "Alyssa lies with Jesus." A beautiful song dealing with child abuse. If one person would step up and help a child who you think is being abused, it would be one less child dead. Song well done. --Paula Shoemaker, Broadview Heights, OH

I foster children and you have no idea what they go through... I have always loved kids and cannot have any of my own so this was a way to help a child and help myself also...God bless songwriters and singers...we love you all...tc

June 02 2007 at 2:03 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHow sad, we must all help a child who we know is being abused in any way...the consequences of turning our head because we don't want to get can be death to the child. Our children need us now more than ever to be strong for them. A sad reality delivered perfectly in this song.
June 01 2007 at 11:27 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhat a heartbreaking, yet wonderful song to listen to with your child to open a discussion about all the "Alyssa"s in our world who live with fear and lies. Please raise your children to reach out to other children around them, especially those who "lie"; the class bully may be an "Alyssa" who strikes out before the other kids can see who he/she really is.
