Kate Bush Takes Privacy Measures to New Heights
- Posted on May 9th 2007 7:00AM by David Sprague
Kate Bush may have made her mark by singing about 'Running Up That Hill,' but the reclusive diva is doing her darnedest to make sure that folks can't make life imitate art -- at least in the vicinity of her crib.
Bush has outfitted her home -- which, naturally enough, sits atop an imposing hillside in Devonshire, England -- with blinding security lights, imposing fences and plenty of signs warning kids and varmints to stay away.
None of those "improvements" have endeared Bush to neighbors, who went to the town council to complain after the singer made a bit to divert public footpaths in order to keep interlopers off her 17-acre spread. While we ordinarily love the gal to pieces, we'd suggest she take a more logical path to attaining privacy -- namely, recording her most soprano-riffic wails and playing them on a tape loop. Unless PETA intervenes on behalf of local muskrats, we'd say that'd do the trick just fine.
