Mother's Day Special: Tori Amos Fantasizes About MILFs

Tori Amos has called Jesus a woman ('Muhammad My Friend'), sung about masturbating in her room while her minister father conducts a Bible study downstairs ('Icicle') and allowed a pig to suckle her breast for her 'Boys for Pele' album art. Needless to say, America's Sweetheart she ain't. But of all this piano provocateur's shock and awe's, it's one word that's gotten Amos into trouble, just in time for Mother's Day: MILF.

On 'Big Wheel,' the first single from her new album 'American Doll Posse,' Amos sings, "I am a M-I-L-F/Don't you forget" (for those not familiar with junior-high cafeteria jargon, the initials stand for "Mother I'd Like to F***"). And when you're a 43-year-old mother who grinds her way along the piano bench the way Amos does, fair enough. However, radio stations across the U.S. were spooked by the naughty acronym and banned the single, and Amos edited the term out of her recent 'Live With Regis and Kelly' performance.

"Something that's so close to charming, you would think wouldn't be so threatening," Amos, mother of six-year-old Natashya, tells Spinner.

"But in our society -- if you go back to the Christian myth -- we don't let women have sexuality. I can't accept that. I woke up after being a beached whale when I was pregnant, and that's the first time that I really understood what a woman's body could do. Of course, it's the paradox: You involve yourself in something so erotic and yet bring something into the world so pure. You can be nurturing, yet know how to please a man. That can be threatening to certain ways of thinking."

While she's unabashed about her own MILF status, Amos is quick to spread the love. "I see women on the beach with children, and they might not get noticed by everybody, but there's something in their eyes," she says. "There's an understanding, an experience of life, the way they sashay down the beach ... I don't know how a woman tastes, but I know how a woman thinks, and, quite frankly, there's so many women that I would love to turn out."

Tori Amos a MILF??? You gotta be kidding!! She's a bit on the wierd "scary chick" side, she ain't at the top of the MILF list! She's really glad-handing herself if she believes that.

She's so awesome. I think it's obvious she doesn't believe she's a MILF. She's being tongue in cheek, and doing it very well.

That's so hypocritical of the networks! Isn't there a show coming out called Milf & Cookies?
K, so it's ok in a cheap, crappy CW sitcom title probably thought up by 55 year old guys, but it's not ok if a woman owns the word?

Tori Amos the New Queen of the piano, she is the only woman other than Kate Bush who can control the keys and the media as well and as long as she has.
I have listened to them both for over 20 years and there is no better. If she feels she is a MILF,
    Then so be it!

First off, I have been a huge fan of Tori Amos for 13 years now. I will say I love her music, lyrics, and talent. It amazes me. However, it scares me that some young woman see her as a "god". This is abnormal. She is a very talented woman who's view are different than "most".
I hope you all that are obsessed with this woman seek the "goddess" in yourself.
