Fiona Apple Finds Herself Up a Creek

Fiona Apple will join indie lovin' string pluckers Nickel Creek for a string of summer dates on the band's 'Farewell (For Now) Tour,' beginning Aug. 2 in Baltimore.

While it may seem an unlikely pairing, Apple and the members of the bluegrass troupe met years ago in L.A., and often sit in on one another's performances at the city's famous Largo club.

The summer shows will play out much like the Largo anything goes sessions, with collaborations between the performers (Nickel Creek will be serving as Apple's backing band) and a bevy of unexpected covers peppered throughout songs from each act's respective catalog.

Meanwhile, we're highly anticipating the Tori Amos/Big and Rich 'Back in the Straddle' tour.
