Rise: His 1997 smash debut rode Biggie Smalls' broad back to two No. 1 singles and another that reached No. 2.
Fall: Criminally underperforming sequel led the rapper to go into the hip-hop witness protection program, changing his name (for the first time) to P. Diddy.

Puff Daddy ? P Diddy ? What the hell is that ? He is a waste of air & oxygen.

Point taken on the limited vocals of todays R&B singers that are out there, but Keyshia Cole CAN pipe. LeToya is on point too!
What ever happened to Chante Moore? She keeps releasing 'em, but no hits ever surface.
I grew up on the likes of Mary J., Whitney Houston, En Vogue, Lalah Hathaway, Miki Howard, Karyn White, Toni Braxton (who is still hittin' it), and all the older divas like Aretha.
But it seems that today's R&B girls are mostly focused on their images than getting the proper vocal training.
he also ripped off the song ain't nothing gonna break my stride. and why does he always change his name ?

July 13 2007 at 6:46 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOne of the greatest business minds of our time. Musically, someone in the bathroom with a stomach virus has more talent.
July 08 2007 at 4:01 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHe ripped off the Police classic from 1983 and then Sting sang backup for Puff when he "performed" it on an awards show. I couldn't believe this shit. Rappers need to write their own music to back their damn raps. This "sampling" is pure piracy and it must stop YESTERDAY.
