Most Monumental Album Flops: No. 16

'I'm in You'
Peter Frampton, 1977
Rise: The former U.K. teen idol grew up fast with the double LP 'Frampton Comes Alive!,' still one of the best-selling live albums of all time.
Fall: Despite the presence of Stevie Wonder, 'I'm in You' was creamed by the critics. The subsequent 'Sgt. Pepper' film fiasco and a near-fatal car crash effectively creamed Frampton's career.
Stats: 'Frampton Comes Alive!' (1976), 6 million; 'I'm in You,' 1 million

Calling "I'm in You" a flop was inevitable, given the enormous success of "Frampton Comes Alive".
Frampton looked damned good back then. He was smokin' hot!! Today he looks horrible.

June 19 2007 at 5:09 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWho makes up these lists? I would say they are more of a flop than Frampton's second LP.
June 19 2007 at 4:15 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWait a minute, here!!! This was a great "ballad-ish" song from Frampton, and it didn't do bad at all, sales-wise. I agree with the aformementioned sentiment - "I hate these lists!" This is a very cool song. Period!

Although it may not compare to the the first one, it's still successful. A million is hard to do sometimes. Music changes as well as peoples music preferences.

I guess any album following Comes Alive would be considered a flop just looking at sheer number sales. These lists always drive me crazy.
Peter Frampton is cool.
May 26 2007 at 7:22 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYeah that is stupid any albums that past the one million mark should not be considered a flop. Also, I see a few albums that reached 2 million in sales and those are considered flops!?! Michael Jackson's HIStory album had the highest debuting single of all-time (You Are Not Alone) off of that album and it has sold over 30+ million world-wide! Where in the wolrd are people getting these stats? They are really off especially Michael Jackson's sales.
