'Mind Blowin''
Vanilla Ice, 1994
Rise: 'Ice Ice Baby' was the first hip-hop single to hit No. 1 on the pop charts.
Fall: Exposure of the former Robert Van Winkle's suburban background fueled jokes about the original white gangsta's street cred, as did a tale of allegedly being dangled off a balcony by Suge Knight.
Stats: 'To the Extreme' (1990), 7 million; 'Mind Blowin',' 42,000

I've seen unsigned locals who put more effort in there packaging than their music. That album cover is an insult. Although, it is spot on with the contents of the CD. So the saying stands... "You can't polish a TURD" But, you can (and should) change the plate it's served on.

Being the only ''white'' rapper at the time, his record label knew they would make alot of money selling albums to white kids in suburban and upper class neighborhoods. I think it was all set up for him to rap at the time. ''ice ice baby'' was a cool song he did, even the Queen was the orginal band that did the song.

This should make just about anyone question their belief in evolution....
I admit...I liked "Ice Ice Baby". Didn't Suge Knight beat the shit out Vanilla Ice?

Wasn't that movie a huge flop too, whatever the hell it was called? oh well, actually i kinda went back too likeing ice ice baby , actually rob is a petty cool dude & father/family man now. You laugh but most of you were jammin' that that sh!t back in the day rollin' in your 5.0 or wishing you were, & he still became more rich & famous & had more fun & ran through more pussy than most people will ever have the pleasure of gettin'.

June 19 2007 at 3:24 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyEven though the late, great Freddie Mercury was AIDS-ridden at the time, I still think he would have kicked Ice's ass for ruining a Queen classic if given the chance.
June 19 2007 at 3:21 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIsn't he doing rap or something now?
