'Don't Cha,' Pussycat Dolls
From 2005's 'PCD'
This song is genius because it recognizes that all men are built exactly the same way that I am. The male species manufactures hundreds of millions of sperm every day, and it doesn't matter that he loves his girlfriend -- who, in the course of a month's time, will only make one or two eggs. No matter how beautiful, all girls realize their guys will always be attracted to other girls. The lyrics say so: "Don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me? Was a freak like me? Don't cha?" It recognizes that he lasciviously wants other girls. Genius. [It blew me away] right away.
The visuals cement it because they look like what they're talking about. They look nasty and that's what guys want. You don't want lazy Miss Daisy Clover if you want to have a good time. I don't want to read a book with a girl -- I'm sorry. It's not politically correct, but I really don't. I want her to be sexy. I want her to buy stiletto heels. I want make-up and perfume. The more time you spend making yourself attractive, the more interested we are.
