melissa etheridge built her career on being a spokesperson for lesbians . Had she not made her sexuality such a big deal she probably would not have become MELISSA ETHERIDGE . She is not that great of a singer . She is not that great of a songwriter . I know someone who played drums on one of her tours . He said she is a nice lady and everything but her talent is not world class , not even close . He said she is good in local clubs but not on the stage she has gotten to . When i asked him how she got so famous he said , its because she is a spokesperson for a lifestyle .
