Hail to the QueenSix months after the AIDS-related death of Queen's lead singer, his surviving bandmates hosted the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness. Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Elton John and Robert Plant led an all-star cast celebrating that crazy little thing called love.

I agree with Gary, gay or straight, Freddy Mercury was one of the most talented people to ever grace God's good Earth with his presence.

Americans were blessed by the talents of Freddy Mercury. His private life should remain just that,Private. If we as Americans would put as much focus on our government(taking our rights away from us on a daily basis) Maybe we would get our America back and our rights.Who really cares if someone is gay? Maybe we should care more about starvation, child abuse, murderers being released daily, homless people, child molesters being released daily only to ruin or to take another childs life.WOW AMERICA< OPEN YOUR EYES. Care about something we have the ability to fix. Do not worry about someones private right to their sexuality.

The band was named Queen because FREDDIE wanted it to be named so, not any of the others. Because none of the others were gay, they were very intent on making sure that it meant 'majestic' instead of 'homosexual'.

God I miss him. One of best angel voices in heaven.

Freddie KICKED ASS!!! I would make out with him, and I'm a homophobe... We are such a ridiculous species.

Freddie Mercury = legend. Not only did he have the most beautiful voice I have ever, or will ever, hear, he promoted AIDS awareness and was a spectacular guy all around. God bless, and Godspeed. He is the lead singer in the choir of angels.

Freddie had the best voice I have ever, or will ever, hear. He is now the lead singer in the choir of angels. God bless, and Godspeed.

Gay or straight, Freddie Mercury was undoubtedly one of the best vocalists ever to grace rock and roll. Queen will go down in history as one the greatest bands in history thanks to Freddie. He is probably in rock-n-roll heaven right now knockin'em dead (pardon the pun). Godspeed Freddie Mercury... you were the best!

There will never be another man like this one. If only we could have had a few more years with him.

Sadly, I remember that about 6 years before I graduated high school, the seniors tried to pick "We Are The Champions" as their class song and were denied because Freddie Mercury was homosexual and had died of AIDS.
I was young at the time, but still was disgusted with the administration...still am, when I think about it.

For the period that Queen was around, Queen stood heads above them all because of the amazing voice and music of Freddie Mercury and Brian May. I was not into hard rock, but that voice of Freddie Mercury took over the 80's scene. Regardless of his sexuality, Freddie was one of the best!!

I remember the benefit after Freddy's death like it was yesterday. Such a moving tribute to such a fine vocalist and humanitarian ~ yes, as he left a legacy of AIDS awareness to his greatful fans and non-supporters alike.
Freddy continues to "Take my Breath Away...."
