I have never gave an artist something but I know some could care less and some really care. I know Dolly has said over and over again that she doesn't throw away anything a fan gives her. If she is not able to take all the flowers she gets than she does send them to children hospitals but she keeps the vase and card and remembers it. Some artist don't really care about their fans they do it just for the money.

Whenever I go to see my favorite band, I bring em a case of red bull to the pre party as a little inside joke since the first time I saw em play, the bassist was stealing all the cans from behind the bar after the show.

December 18 2007 at 4:45 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySome of this stuff makes sense, like the common courtesy things, but the other rules are just BS. Yeah, you shouldn't climb on your friends shoulder because you block about ten people standing behind you and no one wants to see you stick your tongue down someone elses, but if you want to wear the band tee go a head and if you want to show the band your appreciation by giving them "your cheap crap" by all means do so.
December 18 2007 at 2:16 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIf you want to give the band something, wait until after the show. This is their job and no one wants others throwing shit at them while entertaining.
It's called courtesy.
WHATEVER!! I went and saw THE WIGGLES.. and kids were every where with roses for Dorothy the Dinosaur! And her ass came out into the audience and got them!! Damn straight!! She loves cheap crap!

this rule is really stupid. the bands like it when people give them stuff most times.
and i remember i was at an all american rejects concerts and two girls threw an aar shirt on stage and they told them to come sit on the side of the stage with them for the rest of the concert. luckkyy.

This is true with certain bands. I used to work backstage at the marcus amphitheather a few years back. there was this big N'sync concert fans were bringing all sorts of crap. We were under orders to gather it up and toss in all in the trash compactors. Fun times seeing teddy bears go squish.

ok this one actually makes sense. ive seen people throw things on stage and knock guitars out of tune and its rare but sometimes if you throw coined money on stage it can mess up the wiring for the equipment and short it out.

Most bands like it when their fans think of them enough to get them something, even if it's "cheap crap."

We went to TSO one year, at the meet and greet heard the band talking about how hungry/thirst they were. The next year, we brought a huge bag of snacks and drinks for them all to use while going through that hour or two of signing autographs. They LOVED it, gave us passes and much thanks. Most bands appreciate their fans attempts to 'give back' the pleasure they get from the band. Even if all they can do is trash the stuff at the end of the night (squished teddy bears) I would like to think they'd appreciate the gesture.
But, I do agree about throwing crap on stage that could mess up tuning or equipment. My husband's a musician and that part of the 'giving back' is a bit too much.

if you want to throw the band your panties... make sure I know.... I will be taking reallllly good care of you my Darling !!!! wooooooooo hoooooooooooooo
frankat 6-16-2007
man the person who thought up all these rules sounds really uptight and has no business even being at a concert.
Ceciat 6-16-2007
Uh, if you throw crap up there, the singer either takes it and throw it back into the crowd or the people that work there take the stuff and throw it away at the end of the concert.
lorettaat 6-16-2007
this is stupid.
has this person ever been to a REAL rock concert?

this video is funny as hell, but the rules are lame as fuck. Who the hell made them needs to get a life
nelson2008kaneat 6-17-2007
Who can throw stuff far enough to get it to the stage, anyway? I mean, try throwing anything to The Rolling Stones. You'll be arrested, man. Even if you just try to throw them one of your socks, man.
Unless the band is a lousy band and is playing in a club that seats only 20 people. In that case, the band would be thrilled to have fans throw anything at them.

I won tickets to the 1995 "Madonna Pajama Party." It was at Webster Hall in NYC and MTV hosted the live event. Madonna was promoting her "Bedtime Stories" CD and my friend and I were pretty close to the stage. On the way to the show, we stopped at Victoria Secret and I bought a black, sexy bodice to throw on the stage for Madonna. I really didn't expect Madonna to grab it and bring it home, but it was fun nonetheless to throw lingerie at Madonna... Considering Madonna's personality at that time, I think it was the most perfect thing to throw at her. We had fun, was on live TV, and stood 5 feet away from Madonna as she exited the nightclub at 3am.
