ok... you can wear theyre t-shirt if you want... BUT dont try to get the band to recognize you wearing the t-shirt! just have a good time and pretend you are wearing something else... duh
rachelat 2-07-2008
what the hell. you don't wear a bands shirt to their show so that they know you like them. you wear it because where would be a better place to wear a band shirt then to their show.

if an azz hole thinks i'm a posseur or uncool then I know i'm on the right track. listen to the music you judgemental dork

I don't get this one I'm a huge fan of Dolly and I buy her shirts but I choose not to wear them. I want them to be in mint condition just like I bought them. When I go to Dollywood I never wear a shirt I just have my tattoo on my leg. And she has seen it and loved it. When I showed it to her during her Dollywood parade she was so excited and then when I met her in Atlanta on her latest tour she was even more thrilled than ever and was happy. I get more attention from that than a t-shirt that I have hanging on the wall. Anyone can wear a artist/band shirt that is mass produced even though I have made a few artist T's through the years for different concerts that where unique and different. So each fan does there own thing I don't care what the fan does but if I see a shirt, tatto or poster I know that they are a fan and showing their support.

I buy the t shirt from every gig i go to, ya know as a memento. i've bought the t-shirt im gonna wear it. it just shows support for the band. its just the same as wearing a football shirt to a match.
stupid rule

makes u look like a poser casue all the people wearing led zeppelin t-shirts and they kno a few songs from led zeppelin 1 2 and 4 (untitled)and they jsut were the shirts like its a plain t-shirt
gnannerat 6-16-2007
I don't think there's anything wrong with wearing the band tee shirt, the band might like to see it out there for one thing. Wear the tee shirt!

There's nothing wrong with a band shirt - if THEY don't know the song, screw them. Bands actually LIKE when you wear their shirt - it shows you (95% of the time) actually listen to their music.

the only thing wronq with wearing the t'shirt, is that someone said it was uncool. and you don't want to be uncool, because that would be the end of the world. everyone knows that in order to be in the new liberal youth of america, you have to be cool. where has music gone, you're all a bunch of posers text messaging, and ipod freaks, think about it. be yourself don't follow the crowd be different that's cool
Izzyat 6-16-2007
But I don't own a shirt that's not a band t-shirt.
So, no.
Darylat 6-16-2007
Who cares if you wear a band/artist's t-shirt? You're there to see & hear the band/artist.
Carrat 6-16-2007
Its an important rule that the band doesnt wear their own shirts on stage and the crowd shouldn't either. The band can distinguish who actually likes the band by who's having a good time and by who's just standing there with their arms crossed.
danat 6-16-2007
it makes you look like a douche because if you love the band obviously youre there...the band isnt even going to see your shirt...if you like led zepplin dont wear their shirt to a concert, wear another bands t-shirt to their concert (doesnt work with rap..too many rivalries)
samat 6-16-2007
wtf this is the most fucking retarted thing ever.
Lorriat 6-16-2007
well what the hell would you do with the t-shirt you just bought? Stand around with it in your hands? No, you put it on so it's out of your way
HIMdeepshadows13at 6-16-2007
thank you! nothing is sadder than people wearing a t-shirt of the band playing. They are a joke to everyone else.
Tabithaat 6-16-2007
Who the hell cares if you "look like a poser". There's too much judgement today, judge your damn selfs. I'd rather look "uncool" and wear the damn band tshirt...then be considered part of the "cool" crowd. F that.
Besides I hate having people ask me.."so who are you here to see?" Leave me alone my tshirt says it all.
Debbieat 6-17-2007
Yeah, grow up. You're not a little kid anymore. It's like these obese women Hockey Fans who buy their favorite players' jersey at a jersey auction (the money goes to charity) and then they wear it to all the games. Sad thing is, these jerseys are HUGE (they have to fit over the player with all their protective gear) and they fit these fat women tight across their bellies. I tried one on once (it belonged to a friend) and it hung on me like an oversized dress. These women hockey fans also wear these jerseys to the Christmas dinner parties for the players, whereas the not-so-fanaticals dress in nice evening gowns. I got a lot of flack at the last party I wore a dress to. A woman told me "We're a CASUAL crowd". I felt like saying "Oh, is that what you call it? I always thought that was called 'sloppy'". Another women even had the nerve to send me an email saying that the other fans of our local hockey team "pitied" me for the way I dress. Oh? I guess it's because they spend THOUSANDS of dollars on those jerseys, whereas I only spend a couple hundred (or less) on my dresses.

Absolutely hysterically funny that this is even considered a topic of, much less a "rule" of etiquette for attending concerts. But on a more serious note (no pun), that anyone at all would think it their business to make a call of judgment or look down upon a person based on their clothing, and more trivially the band mentioned on said clothing, is the true breach of etiquette.
