Klaxons Set Their Eyes on Dr. Dre Collaboration

British dance-infused rock trio the Klaxons are days away from embarking on tour again but currently, singer-bassist Jamie Reynolds is plagued by pneumonia. With little time off these days, he's not letting the illness keep him down. "I'm in my bedroom now," he tells Spinner, "but my intention is to go out." Perhaps one of the reasons this Klaxons wants to make the most of things in because their free time has become increasingly sparse. Also thanks to songs like 'Gravity's Rainbow,' netting them chart success back home, going out these days means hob-nobbing with a host of celebrities. "I'm still quite excited by it," Reynolds says. "I got into it and started to enjoy meeting celebrities."
It's been widely reported Lindsay Lohan took a liking to his bandmate James at Coachella, but as for who Reynold was made up to meet? A former Aussie chanteuse turned hair-care spokeswoman.
"Natalie Imbruglia," he exclaims. "We were out at a party. She turned up with mutual friends. I was in awe."
The latest celeb on the Klaxons "To Meet" list though, isn't just for the star factor. The group are hoping to make their next famous acquaintance work for them. "Over the next few days we're attempting to make contact with Dr. Dre," Reynolds says. "We really like his production and with any luck he'll say yes and we'll get to work with him."
While the boys don't expect a full Dre produced second album due to the type of costs such collaboration would occur, they are hoping for one song. As for what it might sound like? "I want [him] to try to make black music with white boys from London," Reynolds notes.
