During Bonnaroo's Day Two late night SuperJam, which featured Ben Harper, the Roots' ?uestlove and John Paul Jones, among others, opened with Led Zeppelin's 'When the Levee Breaks,' before launching into 'Good Times, Bad Times.' The crowd overstretched the tent in what seemed like miles. The ad hoc power trio tore into Zeppelin tunes so long that they made Phish jams look like warmups, while still incorporating Harper's trademark soul-groove style. Tom Morello watched intently from the front row, and Warren Haynes, DJ Logic and other starstruck stars watched from the wings.
The SupeJam encore brought out Roots guitarist Captain Kirk for a cover medley of 'Superstitious,' 'Them Changes' and 'It's Your Thing,' straight into 'I Wanna Take You Higher.' With nonstop solos and segues, the SuperJam lived up to its overt name.
