20 Killer B-Sides: No. 1

--Deee-Lite (1990)
Despite the presence of Q-Tip and Bootsy Collins, this all-time shagalicious party tune was considered only B-side material when it first came out, on the flip side of 'What Is Love?,' the single that introduced the band. "No, I couldn't ask for another," sang Lady Miss Kier, and while Deee-Lite hung on for two more albums, she really couldn't have asked for a bigger -- unforeseen -- signature song.

This song was originaly a B-side to "Go Your Own Way", and didn't become a hit till 20 years later.
No Rocket Queen by GnR? That song was on the flip side of Patience. And what about So What? on the flip side of Sad But True by Metallica?
Groove Is In The Heart? I went through the whole list for THIS SONG? Man...
First, to clear something up, Elton John's Philadelphia Freedom was never a B side. It was released as a stand alone single, not yet appearing on any album when released. The true Elton B side that should be mentioned (and I am shocked it was not included on the list) is Candle In The Wind, which was the B side of Bennie And The Jets. It is a classic.

June 14 2008 at 4:42 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyComment # 1 is correct in my opinion. Revolution by the Beatles is by far the greatest B side ever released. Hey Jude was the A side of that single. Not a bad buy.I still have it.
May 06 2008 at 7:50 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyfleetwood mac's 'silver springs' was supposed to be on 1977's "rumours" lp but got cut out due to time constraints. it became the b-side to 'go your own way' and didn't appear on cd until 1992. this song should have been on the list too- the live version off 1997's "the dance" got nominated for a grammy.
on cd reissues of "rumours", 'silver springs' returns to its rightful place.
i agree with the beatles' "revolution" too. i love this version with all that distorted guitar and those great lyircs, but i absolutely hate "revolution" on the white album and of course, "revolution no. 9".
