20 Killer B-Sides: No. 15

--U2 (1987)
Written as an apology from Bono for forgetting his wife's birthday, this song was itself an afterthought. Issued as the flip side of U2's 'Where the Streets Have No Name' single, it was such an unexpected fan favorite that the band remade it for its 1998 best-of compilation. Promotional 'Sweetest Thing' candy bars are now collectors' items.

The reason this song became a b-side was because they just didn't have time to finish it as Bono wanted it to be finished... thus they left it until later to finish it off.
I adore this song.
I was a freshman in college in 1987-88. My roommate was a huge U2 fan, and had the most recent single from them - I didn't really care for the 'hit', but absolutely loved this B-side. I taped it then, and for the next 10 years or so, I'd play it to alot of my friends, and was pretty happy about 10 years ago when they placed it on their greatest hits cds.
haha savannah u suck.
