'A Road to Nowhere,' Carole King
1967 single
I love this song because of the sound. It's really good musically, but especially the lyrics. The words are about when you're in a relationship that doesn't lead anywhere -- a couple that knows that it's time to get off the road to nowhere. But the song is positive in a sense. Like, "Thanks for the good times we had in the past." I like it because it's very human to get bored and to feel the urge to move on. The cliche that the grass is always greener on the other side is part of human nature. Everything is relative. Whenever you get used to something and then you see something different, it will catch your attention. That's my own interpretation.
Jose Gonzalez is an indie-folk singer-songwriter from Gothenburg, Sweden. His new album, 'In Our Nature,' hits shelves on Sept. 25.
