When Ryan Adams finished recording his new album, 'Easy Tiger,' he wasn't quite ready to leave New York's Avatar Studios. Lucky for us, he invited cameras in to his last session to capture this live performance of 'These Girls.' The song is arguably one of the most country-folk leaning tracks on the album ... but not in this performance, as Adams and his band, the Cardinals, deliver it with a grunge-rock twist.
As an added bonus, the guys filmed an encore performance of their hit, 'Beautiful Sorta,' from 2005's 'Cold Roses.' Watch it after the jump.
Adams celebrated 'Easy Tiger's' release with an intimate show last night at New York City's Hiro Ballroom. Looking uncharacteristically clean-cut with a short haircut, suit and tie, he captivated the crowd with a haunting performance of five songs from the new album, plus several old favorites like 'Let It Ride' and 'Goodnight Hollywood Boulevard.'
A skateboarding accident prevented Adams from playing guitar, but that only helped spotlight his pure, dynamic voice. Both audibly and visually, the performance showed a softer side of Adams, as he cracked jokes in between songs and performed more like a melancholic singer-songwriter than an angry rock star.

not prepared to say this...as I certainly wasn't expecting this...but one of the most amazing rock performances I've seen on the net in a while.

I went to the show last night - he's never looked or sounded better. Sobriety totally works for this dude!

I'm hot-n-cold on Adams. But if he had a full album like this, it would be the best of the year. Sometimes his pretentious leanings really get in the way, but there is no denying the talent.

I was at the show at Hiro too. It was totally different from typical Ryan shows -- he was really mellow and almost stationary. But his voice was freakin incredible and he nailed every single song to perfection. Will definitely buy Easy Tiger.
