    Best Benefit Performances: No. 7

    Trent Reznor

    Who: Trent Reznor
    What:
    'Hurt'
Where: Bridge School XX (Mountain View, Calif.)
    When:
    October 21-22, 2006

The goth rock god left his samplers at home and treated a sun-drenched crowd to one of his only acoustic performances. Punctuated by a full string section, the eerie, emotive set proved more Dead Can Dance than 'Downward Spiral.'

ok so um paul is it...um your a Jerk. Its called its a bad video of the performance to begin with. And Trent Reznor does not have a horrible voice and he can sing. He can sing unlike todays crap people who can't sing. This song is so awesome and for you to just kill it for people just pisses me off. You are a Jerk.

This video is far from good quality.. you can hear the ladies talking by the camera more than you can hear Trent. If you dont think Trent is a good singer please go listen to a clip of hurt, not from a shitty camera.

Paul is a fucking moron. Trent is one of the few true artists around in a world saturated with commercialized bullshit.

Hey, I have loved Nine Inch Years (Trent Reznor's band)for years well 11 years to be fact. He has a brilliant voice, no one should say anything nagative about someone who is putting there heart and sole into such a good benefit. Like others have said before, don't judge on a shitty video and a see the real thing.

It must be the video that sucks because the strings sound like a wounded fly buzzing and there is another sound like someone beating on a can of water with a stick. That might be a drum... No disrespect to Trent but this video isn't worth listening to.

Those who are not fans, perhaps, do not have the ears or eyes to judge such a bad recording of such a good performance. Had Mr. Reznor had a professional recording done, anyone would be able to see and hear it. For me, knowing as others here that he is one of the very few really creative forces in music today, it comes through ok despite the recording being unclear. I know that Neil Young is quite a perspicuous fellow, not missing a beat when it comes to knowing what is going on in the music scene, but I never expected to hear that Trent would be doing one of the Bridge School shows. Kudos to all involved -- and if and when a better recording comes available, let us have at it!! Nine Inch Nails Forever!!!
