Rock 'n' roll has been green for decades. Artists like Don Henley, Sting and Willie Nelson have raised millions of dollars for various eco-friendly charities. But some have gone beyond donating their time and money. They've gone to personal green extremes. Spinner counts down the top 10 musicians who've taken grassroots measures to help save Mother Earth.

Dave Matthews Band: Pedal Pushers

Global warming is on the forefront of Matthews' mind, as he is committed to retracing any environmentally harmful footsteps he's taken ... and helping others do the same. As part of their hometown of Charlottesville, Va.'s Community Yellow Bicycles Program, Dave Matthews Band members helped scatter free bikes around town to promote eco-friendly traveling. They've also teamed with NativeEnergy and Clean Air-Cool Planet to offset 100 percent of the carbon dioxide pollution DMB's touring has caused since 1991.

Hi Joe I'm Stefano Naritelli from Italy, I've found your name in Google . From which part of the world are you writing? The name "Naritelli" is not much diffusing in Italy in particular to the foreign country. I have some relative in Argentine and Australia. The totaly of family Naritelli come from north of Italy, were there is a valley called VALTELLINA.

I can’t believe how cynical people are. Even if you don’t buy into global warming, going green is good for everyone, keep an open mind. We can, and should, make this a better world. Thank you Al Gore.

Give me a big, fat, juicy steak anytime from a darling Angus, cutie pie cow.
Hamburgers, hotdogs,chicken, turkey, VEAL, pork venison, moose, elk, caribou, eggs and cheese, and all the other animals that Ted Nugent kills and eats............go baby.
Don't kill that asparagus, those carrots, beets, lettuce and other veggies, they have feelings too.! Get a life, looser..........

how greene is dave matthews? does anyone remember about a year and a half ago, his tour bus was in chicago and the driver flipped the switch to the dump valve of the rest room while going over a river in downtown chicago and the contents landed on people on an upper deck of a tour boat? that's hazzardous waste!

If we didn't have the green houses,we would be at about 140 degrees right now. All we have to do is recycle, don't waste energy,don't pollute the water, fish and frogs have that covered, ride our free bikes that Dave Matthews is going to give each of us. i'm sure the bike shops will repair them for us for free out of the kindness of their hearts.Al Gore is going to cut his annual energy bill of $200,000 by 45% as he wants to lead by example.Veggie pizzas:),Ahh! isn't this symbolism over substance life grand. :)thanks for reading take care.

These celebrity efforts will also help to cool the warming trend observed on the other planets in our solar system. This scientific fact makes obvious to everyone that man has a far reaching effect on the universe. This is especially alarming considering the fact that this planet has never gone through a cycle of warming or cooling as far as scientists know. I believe we should all put complete trust in the vast knowledge of celebrities and politicians to know what's best for the rest of us. I caution, however, not to over-do it. We don't want global cooling to spin out of control!!!

Perhaps Al will give me a ride on his (coal mining) hipocritical family "Falcon' (that is if he hasn't upgraded his personal air travel since "The Recent Truth") to promote my new (paper wasting) diet book that was written for heavily made up, fat, fully clothed, demonic, postal using dog killers.. P.S. Tell Tipper her copy is in the mail..
