Rebelling Against: The Moral Majority!
In which rambunctious Billie Joe Armstrong goes explicitly political, pledging eternal allegiance to society's misfits, the downtrodden and the outnumbered. Since this song, the poster band for juvenilia has been active in alternative energy advocacy, Hurricane Katrina relieve and a rock opera about nonconformity.

"if god didn't want us to eat animals then why did he make them out of meat" Homer Simpson my hero
P.S. yes i am a little pudgy so you can shut up now
Toriat 7-27-2008
i agree- animals weren't put here for us to eat.
but hypothetically, even if they were, that doesn't make it any less of a good protest song.
just because what you are protesting against isn't wrong does not change the effect of your protest- what matters is that you protest for what you think is right.

I have yet to see an intelligent comment.
Years ago, people would actually PROTEST.
Today, the spineless sit back and wait for some halfassed band write a song for them. How ambitious.

What about Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire!"???
Nikkiat 7-15-2007
I dont really think thqt thats a protest song. More of a memorial to all the major events in a certain time period.

What about CCR's "Fortunate Son"?

I think that Green Day has done an amazing job capturing many Americans frustration with this administration and the direction the country is going in. Good choice.

Morrissey's compelling "Meat Is Murder" song was a long overdue protest against the inhumane beef, pork, lamb, poultry and fishing industries that mistreat and kill anmals, birds and fish with the utmost malevolent irreverence.

ok Brien, everyone isnt vegitarian, not only that, what is it that you eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, those animals were put here for that very reason, who cares about whats being said or how a person feels or goes about the preperation of these animals becoming our much needed nutrition.

chas1266, animals weren't "put here" to be killed. humans are animals too, we're all living creatures, yadda yadda yadda, scuse me if i'm turning into a hippie here, but if you insist on eating corpses you might wanna take a look at how they live.
p.s. not everyone's a godfucker.
codyat 7-17-2007
ok chas1226, animals weren't put here for us to eat. people don't need to eat animals for 'nutrition', and it's not natural. if we were meant to eat them, we'd eat them raw and go for the blood and guts for nutrients, like what any carnivore or omnivore does. people are just conditioned to eat animals.

This is one of the kewlest songs around! It's interpreted alternately to different people, but I think it says you should be individual and not care what anyone else says. And in response to the vegeterian deal, it's the circle of life. Animals eat other animals to survive, so technically it is natural. How we prepare the animals we eat is another thing.
