'World Wide Suicide'
--Pearl Jam (2006)

Rebelling Against: Operation Iraqi Freedom!

Like a lot of veteran rockers, Eddie Vedder has become a campaigner in middle age, trashing George Bush with an amusing baseball metaphor in "Bushleaguer" – "Born on third, thinks he got a triple." There's nothing metaphoric about 'World Wide Suicide,' which rages against the Bushies and their Iraq war: "Tell you to pray, while the devil's on their shoulder."

TO RUSSELL-
I THINK YOU MAY BE THE ONLY EDUCATED PERSON ON THIS PAGE(ON OP. IRAQI FREEDOM). YOU ACTUALLY HAD SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO SAY OTHER THAN DEFENDING PJ. MOST PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE BEING SAVED. MY HUSBAND JUST GOT BACK FROM IRAQ ON HALLOWEEN.ONE STORY HE SHARED WAS- HE AND HIS GUYS SAW THE REMAINS OF TWO WOMEN BEHEADED BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO LEARN HOW TO READ. WE REALLY ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE THERE. WERE PROTECTING THEM FROM THE OTHER RADICALISTS THAT ARE STILL TERRORIZING IRAQ. IF WOMEN AND CHILDREN FEEL SAFE AT NIGHT AND WHEN THEY ARE WALKING TO SCHOOL- I BELIEVE WERE MAKING A DIFFERENCE...

Matt, when you pull yer head out, make sure you are in isolation. The "pop" is going to be might loud since you have it so far up there! Bushwilldie was not talking perfection, merely improvement. And right now, there is no where to go but up. Matter of fact, that was true in 2001 as well. When your beloved bushies were tracking down porn instead of terrorists.

These guys never protest the problem. That is Muslim Nazi Fundamentalism. They are of the same breed as a generation or so ago who could not protest Mao or old Joe Stalin, the biggest mass murders ever. Maybe he should have balanced this out with a protest song about Clinton who allowed our people to die without much of a response. I would like to punch this guy.

Mark in Va with your head in your ass, Pearl Jam is one, if not the most important bands in the world. YOU are a piece of shit on your mom's computer, you short bus bitch. You must be one of the 25% of the Bush supporters. Talk about an idiot drunk of a president. Take the 'W' sticker off of your Hummer asshole and join the real world.

Pearl Jam is IRRELEVANT! Always have been always will be! Eddie Vedder would have been better suited to have been born in the 50s and lived as a dirty ass hippie in the late 60's! PJ SUCKS!
