When They Rocked: 1972-1985
Fat Albert and his crew were the kings of socially conscious cartoon rock. For 13 years, the band picked through trash in their inner-city neighborhood to make their instruments – just so they'd have a funkadelic groove to complement the life lessons in their lyrics. Now that's what we call D.I.Y.

Especially with the famous Bill Cosby as his voice, he ruled! And unlike many cartoons today, he always had some sort of lesson to teach. A GOOD lesson, not some way or another on how to be a jerk or con someone out of something, like money or whatever it be. Fat Albert was so cool back then. He's still cool now, you just don't see him much anymore.
