When He Rocked: 2005-present
Not since Kermit has an amphibian rocked so hard. Crazy Frog's career began with a bang when his trance cover of hi-energy '80s hit 'Axel F' shot to the top of the charts in six countries. Crazy was also a fashion innovator – he was hitting the town commando long before the Brit Bunch. As a result, early videos showing hints of the Frog's genitalia were censored, thanks to the complaints of overanxious parents.

I do admit I quite like the Crazy Frog, but only for three reasons in particular.
No. 1- The character is generally original and quite amusing, despite how annoying he may be.
No. 2-The CG is quite impressive.
No. 3-The person behind it chose to do an Eighties track-the Eighties music wise can be quite understated, and it brought the original track back into popularity as well.
Oh, and to all those who didn't know, the creator himself has stated he himself is sick of the crazy frog.
If I ever get married, I want to serenade my wife with this song at our wedding. LOL!!!

July 30 2007 at 4:13 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAs much as I love art for arts' sake, I still view Crazy Frog as nothing more than a more modern reinterpretation of older classics.
Now GORILLAZ is anothe matter completely!
What a freakin joke this list is! I have several valid problems with this:
1. The old cartoon classics such as Looney Tunes are not only visually stunning, they are also full of hilarity and incredible wit. There was a true artistic purpose to them (think: What's Opera, Doc?); they weren't simply long commercials plugging mindless junk like those of the Dark Ages (most, if not all, of the 70's and 80's). Thankfully, Ren and Stimpy were the first to break out of that horrible trend.
2. Jem, the Chipmunks, Josie and the Pussycats, and most others from the Darks Ages of cartoons belong on the Worst List - not the best. Their only purpose was to target merchandise at children, and this included selling records of their laughable "music."
3. Gorillaz serve the same purpose as the Golden Age cartoons, but rather in musical form. Their songs are original, intelligent, abundant in talent, and genuinely excellent.
4. Comparing an authentic band like Gorillaz to any of the others on this list is like comparing an MP 3 player to a whoopie cushion; one is a phenomenal invention and the other is a gag joke. I love South Park, but the fact is Faith+1 is a comical satire aimed at poking fun at hypocrisy and nothing more.
Lastly, whoever is responsible for these lists need to better acquaint themselves with the subject before they blithely group things together.
