Josh Rouse Riffs Off Maxine Nightingale

Folk-rock troubadour Josh Rouse has been known to write some catchy, '70s-tinged tunes. Now, he has another distinction: the first artist to perform on the Interface twice.

Rouse stopped by the studio recently to perform songs from his new album, 'Country Mouse City House,' including 'Hollywood Bassplayer,' which we needn't point out sounds an awful lot like Maxine Nightingale's 'Right Back Where We Started From.' "I've always liked that song and I've had that riff for a while," he told Spinner. "['Hollywood Bassplayer'] kind of sounds like it ... but not too much. My song's not even comparable to that song. That song is amazing."
