Baseball League 'Kiss' Their Season Goodbye

We can think of any number of ways to pay homage to Gene Simmons on his birthday -- trying to perfect a panini presses that'd etch our visage in sourdough bread ranks fairly high on the list -- but for some reason, a minor league baseball game doesn't come to mind. The folks running the Brockton Rox of the independent Can-Am League apparently feel differently, however, and have decided to commemorate Aug. 25 with a blowout dedicated to Simmons and his band.

"Kiss the Season Goodbye" night -- which falls, logically enough, during the last weekend of the season -- will feature a number of Kiss-themed activities, including a grown-up strain of face painting. Team management promises that players will show up decked out in "Kiss-inspired" uniforms, which we can only hope come accessorized with six-inch platform sneakers and codpieces calculated to withstand a good old-fashioned spike to the crotch.
