Prolific photographer Glen E. Friedman captured the early days of punk, skate and hip-hop culture with famed images of Black Flag, Bad Brains, Beastie Boys and Public Enemy. His latest photo book, 'Keep Your Eyes Open,' follows Washington D.C. D.I.Y. heroes Fugazi.
"Rolling Stone magazine wrote about the Clash in 1979, saying that they are the only band that matters," Friedman told Spinner. "If you look at it in that context, Fugazi is the only band that really matters." Friedman expounds his theory in an excerpt from 'Eyes.' "I loved this band ... so much so that they changed photography for me." Spinner gives you a look at the book, out September 3.
