London, 1985: That's at the height of the 'Born in the USA' tour. During the intermission of the concert, I clamped a remote-controlled Nikon onto a railing at stage right, pre-focused it, dropped the long shutter release cable underneath the stage and waited for Bruce to hit his mark during 'Hungry Heart.' This shot says "Bruce for the masses" to me. I mean, this was July 4, 1985, right before he went back to America to play stadiums. We were in London, on the biggest American holiday, he's tearing into 'Born in the USA,' and it was kind of ... chilling, you know?

yea right,
Born in the USA, the most mis-named album in US pop culture, is at best;
a 'weak poetic thrashing' of the United States,
the birth of Bruce Springsteen "Super Star"
(mistakenly earned by the pseudo-patriotic theme of Born in the USA),
and the death of "the Boss", real American hero; working, caring, conflicted thoughtful, son of true immigrant parents/grandparents).
Please, he lost his reality when he decided to believe in his star power.
When you "preach" working class from your billion-aire world, it's just false, shallow.
13 states, oooohhh? Please...
Not what The E Street Band was about,
Sorry to say, the whole Kerry affiliation, was an embarrassment. Bruce, in the day, would have had NOTHING to do with Kerry or Bush.
Please.
Kerry and Bush were private school boys,
E Street boys were...not...LOL
If you were there in the beginning, you get it,
if you weren't you probably need to say vile things about our country and/or our President,
Go for it!
Todays Bruce will check opinion polls before responding; Clitonesque. That's where/when he ceased to be "the Boss."
My Bruce was a guy who knew he was; where he came from, who we were, are and will be. Public opinion, a joke, the real Bruce knew who he was, and then who we were.
Who we wanted our kids to be...
I know who I am, I'm wondering when Bruce decided to believe/embrace the bullshit.
When and why a did New Jersey; working class, hot, super star, rocker decide that being the "hip" front man for a dweeb prep school boy was the ultimate path to peace?
Why has our working class hero, chosen to become a voice for the elite left?
My Marine(son) is defending his right to do so, and I couldn't be more proud!
but I admit, Bruce has lost has appeal.
Man of the streets, inner struggles, ideological debates; words of interest and progressive thought.
For What...
Pandering to the masses,
Your Welcome, and God Bless The World, and The USA!

MY DAD LOST HIS LIFE DUE TO WAR FOR THIS WONDERFUL COUNTRY. I THINK THIS JERK SHOULD BE BOOTED OUT...LOCK, STOCK, BARREL, AND ALL OF HIS MUSIC TOO. DAD WAS OMCE A MARINE THAT LATER JOINED THE ARMY AND BECAME A CAREER OFFICER. HE SPENT TIME IN THREE OF AMERICA'S WAR CAMPAIGNS. DIED DUE TO SERVING IN THE THIRD ONE. I LIKED THIS GUY'S MUSIC AT FIRST BUT THEN WHEN HE TURNED INTO A TRAITOR, I WAS REPULSED BY HIM. HE'S NOTHING BUT A BIG BLOWN UP HEADED EGOTIST THAT LEANS SO LEFT THAT IT'S AMAZING THAT HE CAN STAND UP STRAIGHT AND WALK..OR IS HE USING PROPS NOW TO DO IT? LOOKING AT HIM REMIMDS ME OF LOOKING AT HITLER. GAK.
