The Sex Pistols broke up approximately two hours after that photo was shot. I love that picture, 'cause of all the goobers hanging off of him. If you look really closely, you'll see two or three big gobs of snot. When you show that picture to a certain age group, they swoon -- there's no other word to use. Their temperature goes up and they're gonna faint.

This picture of Sid Vicious doesn't exactly make me swoon. The snot, the cuts, the destroyed veins-not a pretty picture. I was around when they were hot-punk rock holds great and wild memories for me, (NY City in the late 70's was a blast), but I have no need to glorify him or the time period by calling it something it wasn't. Self destructiveness in motion is never pretty to me. Still and all, he and the Sex Pistols had something. Raw angst I guess. As a musician he sucked-couldn't play well straight or sober. He as a singer and as a band in general the Sex Pistols were compelling, exciting. Or maybe I was just young and stupid! lol
