Perry Farrell took charge during a press conference on Day One of Lollapalooza -- which also featured Polyphonic Spree's Tim DeLaughter and Ted Leo -- changing the heading of "press conference" to "solutionists panel," as a testament to festival's socially aware changes since its inception. "I'm such a fan of what Perry has done," DeLaughter said.
"I want to be able to keep the oceans clean and snow on the mountains," Farrell said of the million-dollar effort to keep the festival a green and carbon neutral event. While he joked that he could've used the money for a great vacation instead, perhaps he can take some of the mega-bucks from sponsors like Adidas and Sony, and still go to Costa Rica.
