Best Opening Lyrics: No. 14

"There must be some kind of way out of here, said the joker to the thief"
--Jimi Hendrix's 'All Along the Watchtower'

Dylan may have written these words, but even he agreed that Hendrix owned them.

Yes, this one deserves to be here, not only because it comes from one of the masters, but because it is a unigue line.

Maybe you tools should learn your rock history before you bash on one of the worlds greatest musicians and leaders of all time! Dylan was more than flattered that Hendrix put a "symphony of sound" to his lyrics. Dylan stated that "before these words came from Jimi and his guitar they were just words; he brought them to life and gave them a meaning." Jimi is a legend that no man in music can measure up to. If we hadn't had Jimi in our lives; our lives would have suffered greatly.

I've tried to look past all of your stupid, thoughtless, insignificant comments, and can't help but say that you are THE biggest douchebad on here. Did you even READ Liz's comment?
Hmm...probably not. All the truth and accuracy, as well as great length probably intimidated your SMALL MIND.

better yet, why don't you tell us what a great leader is, chris? from every piece of footage i've seen of Hendrix--either with the Experience, or at Woodstock--he looks like he was leading to me...why don't you enlighten us with your knowledge, because none of us know what we're talking about...

Best first line in a Rock song? Jimi's guitar solo at the beginning of Little Wing....doesnt even need words...

Which is really kinda what Dylan was talking about with this one...Jimi's ability to paint intricate pictures with his guitar solos and the wall of sound that became this recording took Dylan's brilliance one step further.

Chris I'm thinking that your way to young to understand anything that Jimi ever sang about. And I'm also sure your too young to know that Jimi and Dylan collaborated TOGETHER to bring peace and integration to this fucked up world through their music. Too bad that each of them died as a result of this world and what it had to offer. And leader; you really need me to define what kind of leader he was? How about one of the few black men that fought ridicule and hate from his own race in order to show that no matter the color of your skin or belief in your heart we can all coexist in this world as one. Gee, maybe if you did a little more research on Hendrix you would know this; hell you should take a moment to read the lyrics to his music and let it sink in. It'll make you a better person and give meaning to your pathetic life.
Good day. I SAID GOOD DAY!!
