"There must be some kind of way out of here, said the joker to the thief"
--Jimi Hendrix's 'All Along the Watchtower'

Dylan may have written these words, but even he agreed that Hendrix owned them.

Dylan just released another album. - And, not from the grave, Liz Page. Are you Jimmy Page's daughter, by chance?

They give tribute to Dylan for writing this song but I think they are saying that he delivered the line unlike Dylan could. In that sense Hendrix owned the lyrics. They are not putting down Dylan just that Hendrix had such a great presence and delivery.

All of Jimi Hendrix Lyrics are very deep with lots of meanings that I think not everyone can understand,,,
But taking LSD really helps also....
BTW Bob Dylan wrote the song,,,
but love Jimi's songs and guitar playing

Sorry Spinner Staff, but you got two things wrong with this one. First give Bob Dylan the credit for writing the song. Second quote him right, listen for yourself. "There must be some kind of way out of here, said A joker to the theif" You guys at Spinner either rushed on this article or have bad journalistic skills

I sure am glad Bobby wrote this one before he died? Jimi tore it up in the studio before he did.

geez louise...it has been established that Dylan wrote the song...let me ask you: have you ever heard Dylan's version? For as great as Dylan is, even he knew to get out of his own way for this song. Jimi did it in a way that there was nothing else that could be done to the song. Let's face it: were it not for Jimi's version, this song wouldn't even be on the list. Period.

to all the people hyperventillating about Dylan writing the song--chill the hell out...it's been over established that he is the author of the song...have ya'll heard Dylan's version of the song? as great as Dylan is, even he had enough sense to get out of his own way regarding this song...Hendrix did it in a way that nothing else can be done to it. To all you Dylan lovers, wrap your mind around this: were it not for Hendrix's version, this song wouldn't even be on the list. Period.

I didn't just here a line here, I heard the whole jam! Nothing beats JH on this song. The sound that the Experience laid out with just thre instruments tells that tale that simple is better. They live and I'm better for it. Ohhh!!! What rifts!!

Dylan may have written and performed this song, but Hendrix brought it to life.

Do you think every artist performs thier own material? Most of them couldn't write a song if they tried. geez...

Jimi had more talent than most any artist of his time, it doesn't matter where the material came from, he made it talk to you in ways you never would believe possible!
