    Best Opening Lyrics: No. 18

"We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee"
    --Merle Haggard's 'Okie From Muskokee'

Hippie haters took this line a little too literally. Heck, for all we know, the Hag was stoned when he wrote it.

For those that don't know, Merle is the best country vocalist that ever lived. Listen to some of his early stuff---workin man blues, mama tried, sing me back home, I started loving you again---merle had the purest, perfect tone voice. If you haven't heard merle, treat yourself to the best ever!

Smokin' marijuana is probably the only thing that Hag didn't do, in Muskogee or anywhere else.

#1, great, great song. I wonder why Spinner didn't decide to go with that song. Wasn't it by the Stones???

Haggard has been known to make a comment like: "fortunately we're not in Muskogee very often" when he does this tune in concert.

Find "Asshole from El Paso" by Chuck Wagon and thr Wheels, great parody. The first line is "We all smoke marijuana in El Paso"

I've not only smoked marijuana in Muskogee, but I scored a pound from a guy with really long hair.

Lyric- "You left me here on your way to paradise; you pulled the rug right out from under my life. I know where you go to, I knew when you came home last night, with a mist in your eyes from the smoke of a distant fire." Love that!

Sure, no one smokes marijuana in Muskogee. And there are no gays in Iran.

Bob, Billy Bob, not Billy Ray. Thornton would need a mullet to be Billy Ray.
